Anambra Election: Materials Yet To Arrive In Parts Of Ihiala Council After Four Hours

The supplementary governorship election in Anambra State is partly being affected by logistics as voting has not commenced in some parts of the state hours after polls were supposed to open.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had scheduled the exercise to be carried out from 10am to 4pm.

But the electoral materials were yet to arrive at some polling units as of 2pm.
Daily Trust reports that at mid-day ad-hoc INEC officials were seen at the Ihiala Local Government secretariat struggling to convey materials meant for their polling stations.
The governorship election was declared inconclusive because no ballot was cast at Ihiala, which has over 140,000 registered voters.
Meanwhile, there was a low turnout of voters in some of the polling stations visited.
There was no crowd at St. Augustine College Mbosi ward 20, comprising 14 polling units.
