Police Tighten Security As Hoodlums Burn Kano Governorship Aspirant, Senator Barau Jibrin’s Office

Some hoodlums have burnt the campaign office of Senator Barau Jibrin, a 2023 governorship aspirant in Kano State.

Jibrin represents Kano North at the Senate.

Following the incident, security has been beefed up in some parts of the state.

Jibrin is a member of the Kano All Progressives Congress (APC) G-7, led by a former governor of the state, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.

G-7 had on Tuesday secured a major victory over the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje-led faction of the APC in the state when a Federal Capital Territory High Court recognised executives elected at their (G-7)ward congress but dissolved those elected by the Ganduje-led faction.

The building burnt by scores of hoodlums on Wednesday night reportedly belongs to a former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Musa Gwadabe.

SaharaReporters learnt that the scene of the arson attack has is now heavily guarded by the police.
