Winter Olympics 2022: Team USA hockey in the quarterfinals, slopestyle skiing finals and more from the action in Beijing

It’s win-or-go-home time for the 2022 Winter Olympics hockey tournament in Beijing.

With a 4-0 win over Germany on Monday, Slovakia entered the men’s hockey quarterfinals to face Team USA. The Americans went 3-0-0 in the preliminary round, while Slovakia notched only one win. With three goals and three assists, forward Sean Farrell is Team USA’s leading scorer. Slovakia counters with Juraj Slafkovsky.

The Americans have used two goaltenders in the tournament. Drew Commesso started the first two preliminary games, and Strauss Mann was between the pipes in the final prelim game, against Canada. Team USA coach David Quinn has not named a starter for Tuesday’s quarterfinal.

Before the hockey gets started, we’re on the slopes for the men’s slopestyle skiing final. Nick Goepper, who won silver in 2018, leads the three-man American contingent in the final. He is joined by Alex Hall and Colby Stevenson. Andri Ragettli, of Switzerland, is the top qualifier for the final.
