This Kyiv resident has told the BBC about her decision to tell her three children – one just five-months-old – about the war in Ukraine.
Olena Gnes said it was better for her children to know upfront that their father joined Ukraine’s defence unit.
She says the situation has “taken their childhood away,” but that it was important for them to know the truth.
