Former teacher and lone PDP lawmaker in Yobe House of Assembly who ended ex-speaker’s 6th term ambition, defects to APC

The only lawmaker on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Yobe State House of Assembly, Honourable Lawan Musa Majakura, has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.   Recall that Majakura, a volunteer teacher, made history when he defeated the former Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Ahmed Mirwa Lawan, in the 2023 State Assembly elections. He was received by the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Thursday, November 16, 2023. A statement by Mamman Mohammed, Director General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, revealed that his principal described Majakura as a young and vibrant politician with enormous potential. “Politics is about service to the people. I am impressed with your commitment to serving your constituency effectively. I am also impressed with the caliber of people that accompany you to this event; it shows your acceptance by this group of credible politicians. Justifying his defection to the APC, Honourable Majakura said he decided to leave the PDP for the APC because of the commendable efforts of the Buni administration in providing infrastructure to the people of his constituency.  The post Former teacher and lone PDP lawmaker in Yobe House of Assembly who ended ex-speaker’s 6th term ambition, defects to APC appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
