Human Rights Lawyer Adeyanju mocks Tinubu over ‘promised land’ remark, asks to be ‘dropped off’

Nigerian human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has mocked President Bola Tinubu’s claim that he will lead the country to the “promised land”. Adeyanju took to social media to sarcastically ask Tinubu to “drop him off” while he takes the rest of Nigerians to this promised land, implying that he doesn’t believe Tinubu’s claim.

Tinubu, during his new year message had assured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to leading the country to the promised land.

Tinubu stated that his administration is motivated by the ongoing support from the National Assembly over the past 19 months.

He made this declaration on Wednesday while addressing a gathering at his residence in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.

Tinubu said: “We are determined, we are capable, and we are resolute, and we will be there. We will take Nigeria to that promised land with you.”

Reacting to the statement, Adeyanju posted on X: “Tinubu promises to take Nigerians to the ‘promised land’ in his New Year message.

“ME: Please drop me; I don’t want to follow Nigerians to where you are taking them. Thank you very much.”
