Ohanaeze Youth President Kidnapped by Gunmen in Imo State

Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, the President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has been reportedly kidnapped in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

According to sources, a group of armed men arrived in a Sienna and a Lexus SUV, seizing Igboayaka near Work Layout, close to IMSU Junction

Confirming the abduction, President of the Igbo National Council (INC), Chilos Godsent, said that since the incident, efforts to contact Igboayaka have been unsuccessful as his mobile lines remain switched off.

“Since this sad news, attempts by teeming members of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), family members, friends, and associates to reach him through his mobile lines have failed,” Godsent stated.

The INC has called on the Imo State Police Command to swiftly investigate the incident and determine the identity of the gunmen.

Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the Imo Police Command, confirmed that an investigation is underway to locate the OYC president.

He also dismissed speculation that Igboayaka was arrested by security operatives.
