Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has expelled student Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious after she was found guilty of assaulting a lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, during a clash over a TikTok video recording.
The incident, which went viral online, occurred when Okoye interrupted Chimamaka as she was filming a dance video in the university hallway.
The university’s Acting Vice-Chancellor made the decision to expel Chimamaka following the recommendations of the Student Disciplinary Committee, which deemed her actions as “gross misconduct” and a violation of the Students’ Disciplinary Regulations.
The expulsion letter, dated February 13, 2025, marks a decisive response by UNIZIK to maintain discipline and protect the safety of its faculty members.
