The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has confirmed the resignation of Dr. George Nwaeke, Head of Service, in a statement released on Tuesday morning.
Nwaeke, who served under the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, stepped down from his position amidst the ongoing transition in the state’s leadership.
His resignation was confirmed in a statement from the Chief of Staff to the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), on Tuesday.
Ibas expressed appreciation for Dr. Nwaeke’s contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Meanwhile, the Sole Administrator has appointed Prof. Ibibi Worika as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG). According to an official statement, the appointment was based on Worika’s extensive experience in academia, legal practice, and policy advisory roles.
His appointment takes immediate effect.
