Police bust kidnap gang in Anambra, recovers four vehicles

Police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad at Awkuzu in Anambra state have arrested four suspects including a lady over alleged kidnapping.

Anambra police public relations officer Tochukwu Ikenga in a statement, said the police acted on credible information before storming the suspects hideouts at Uke in Idemili local government area of the state.

The raid according to the police led to the recovery of one black Lexus car, one ash Toyota Camry and a Toyota Corolla car with a spraying machine and other items suspected to have been taken from their victims.

The suspects are said to be within the age bracket of nineteen years to twenty eight and have all confessed to the crime as members of a kidnapping and armed robbery syndicate who are also involved in car snatching among other crimes.

Anambra police commissioner CP Ikioye Orutugu added that the four suspects are already undergoing police interrogation aimed at getting more details on their mode of operation and arresting other suspects that are currently on the run.
