Manchester City agree deal to sign Tijjani Reijnders fromACMilan for 46.3m

Manchester City have agreed a £46.3m (€55m) deal with AC Milan to sign Tijjani Reijnders.

The Netherlands international is set to sign a five-year deal at the Etihad.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Netherlands international is set to join the Manchester side with a verbal agreement now in place after personal terms were settled earlier in the week. Only the final formalities are yet to be resolved between the two clubs as the transfer nears completion.

Reijnders is coming off the back of an impressive campaign for the Serie A outfit in which he contributed 15 goals and five assists in 54 appearances in all competitions.

Despite Milan finishing eighth in the table, the Dutchman’s performances saw him named the Serie A midfielder of the season.

City also remain in discussions with Wolves for £40m-rated Rayan Ait Nouri and Lyon for Rayan Cherki.

Attacking midfielder Cherki, 21, is valued around £35m after netting 12 times in 44 games this season, including two against Manchester United in the Europa League.

He was also part of the France U23 team that won a silver medal at last summer’s Olympic Games.

Cherki has not yet been capped by France at senior international level but was recently handed his first call-up and could make his debut in Thursday’s UEFA Nations League semi-final clash with Spain.

City hope to complete the signing of Ait-Nouri before the Club World Cup to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s back line.

Wolves left-back Ait-Nouri, 23, has been admired by scouts at City for the past 12 months.
