
A 34-year-old Nigerian woman has been arrested in Mumbai, India, after being caught in possession of cocaine valued at approximately N254 million.
The suspect, identified as Yenna Christina Idowu, was detained by officers from the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) around 3:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025. She was reportedly seen exhibiting suspicious behavior in the Old MHADA area of Andheri West, prompting officers to intervene.
According to the Versova Police, a search of her bag was conducted in the presence of a female officer. During the search, authorities discovered 30 capsules containing a total of 418 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of ₹1.42 crore (about N254 million).
During preliminary questioning, Idowu stated that she hails from Ondo State in Nigeria but currently resides in Noida, New Delhi.
Police say efforts are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the drug network. Investigators are working to identify the source of the narcotics and the intended recipients.
A formal case has been filed against Idowu under various sections of India’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. She remains in police custody as further legal proceedings continue.
