Heavyweight boxing champion, Oleksandr Usyk has sent a heartfelt message to his former rival, Anthony Joshua, following a fatal car crash along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
 

Joshua was reportedly injured in the incident, which occurred on Monday, after a vehicle carrying members of his team collided with a stationary truck by the roadside. The crash claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s close associates.

Usyk, who recently visited Nigeria, reacted to the tragedy via a comment with his official Instagram handle, expressing deep sorrow over the loss and offering words of encouragement to the British boxer.

“This is an unbelievable loss. Sina and Latz were two incredible people who were not only part of AJ’s team, but also friends,” Usyk wrote.

“My sincere condolences to their families, loved ones, and everyone who knew them. Anthony Joshua, wishing you a speedy recovery. Stay strong, champion.”
