The sounds of gunfire startled residents early Thursday, Feb 11, in an apartment building in suburban Sandy Springs, north of Atlanta.
Police were called to The Eva Apartments at 789 Hammond Drive in north Fulton County, around 2 a.m. in response to reports of shots fired.
They found three males shot inside an apartment. Two were dead at the scene and a third was rushed to a local hospital and is expected to survive, Fox 5 News reported.
Police said all of the men knew each other. There is no motive for the shooting.
Investigators spent the day collecting evidence and reviewing surveillance video that shows one man fleeing the scene.
A resident, @ice_tr3, uploaded video showing the bloody aftermath of the shooting. Blood was seen inside an elevator and there are bloody footprints leading down a hallway.
@ice_tr3 captioned the video: “Fatal shooting in my building The Eva in Sandy Springs last night around 2 am. It is reported that 3 Latino guys had an argument last night and then a shoot out between the 3 ensued. All three participants were shot Two was fatally shot the other one is in the hospital being treated for there injuries and the status is unknown. Police are currently investigating the incident. People are terrified and expect to see cheaper rent or they are departing…”
He added: “PSA. This was not black on black crime! They were Mexican!”
