The immediate past Head of Service in Rivers State, George Nweke, has come forward with explosive allegations against his former boss, Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Nweke accused Fubara of masterminding the destruction of public buildings, orchestrating violence, and attempting to destabilize President Tinubu’s administration.
In a press statement, Nweke alleged that Fubara had directly instructed his suspended Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, to burn down the State House of Assembly during a period of heightened political tension.
He further accused the governor of sponsoring the destruction of pipelines, fueling further unrest, and jeopardizing the region’s economy.
Nweke claimed that the recent emergency rule imposed on the state was essential in preserving Rivers State and Nigeria’s economy from Fubara’s sinister motives. He asserted that Fubara’s actions threatened to plunge the state into chaos, necessitating the implementation of emergency rule to restore order.
Meanwhile, Governor Fubara has denied these allegations, suggesting that Nweke has been compromised. Nweke has refuted claims that he was kidnapped or coerced into making these statements and insists that he is acting in the interest of the state and its people.
As tensions rise and allegations continue to surface, the residents of Rivers State are left questioning the motives of those in power and hoping for a swift resolution to the ongoing political turmoil.
