US Professor shares her challenges with student loan she has been repaying for over 11 years

Lacy M. Johnson, an American writer, professor and activist has shared her struggle with student loan which is a controversial topic among US citizens.

According to Johnson, she graduated from college in 2018 owing $70k in federal student loan. Describing it as a poor choice she wouldn’t make again, the professor disclosed that she still owes $70k even after making payments totaling about $60k in over 11 years.

She tweeted;

When I left grad school in 2008, I owed $70k in federal student loans. (A poor choice I wouldn’t make again.) For the past 11 years, I’ve been making payments (except for a period of under employment), totaling about $60,000 in payments. Guess how much I still owe. $70,000.
