Court remands man for beating staff of Honeywell Foods to death in Lagos

A 27-year-old man, Damilola Farojoye, who allegedly hit and killed a staff of  Honeywell Foods, Omokhogie Francis Ayogwokha with a wooden stick, has been arraigned before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos State.

It was gathered that the defendant was fighting with his wife when late Omokhogie,45, intervened. Farojoye hit the deceased on the head with a wooden stick, causing his death.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 21, 2019, at about 8.30a.m., on Adidas Field, Tolu, Ajegunle, Lagos State.

The defendant is facing a count of murder but his plea was not taken.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adeola Adedayo, remanded him at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre pending advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions.

Adedayo adjourned the case until February 11, 2020, for mention.
