Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, the Kaduna House of Assembly Speaker has resigned from the position.
The lawmaker representing Sabon-Gari Constituency in the Assembly tendered his resignation before commencement of plenary session on Tuesday morning. This reportedly came amid alleged plans by some members of the assembly to impeach him.
The house immediately elected Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani as the new Speaker, while Mukhatar Isa Hazo was elected as a new Deputy Speaker of the house.
