Mahomes’ mom to MNF football announcers: Call my son Patrick

We’ve all been there, minding our own business, when suddenly Mom comes to our defense. But for most of us, it doesn’t happen on Twitter while we are playing in the biggest game of the 2020 NFL season so far.

On Monday, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ mom was defending the name she gave him and making it clear that she wasn’t happy with the announcers in the Monday Night Football booth.

Randi Mahomes tweeted: “If this announcer doesn’t stop calling my son Pat.. ugh i may scream… lol #help.”

ESPN analyst Louis Riddick took the blame in the fourth quarter after word of Randi Mahomes’ tweet made it to the booth.

“Guilty, guilty, guilty,” Riddick said while laughing. “I apologize, Patrick.”

The Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens 34-20, and Mahomes made his mom proud with 385 passing yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
