Adamawa #EndSARS Panel Submits Report, Confirms Loss Of Lives, Property

The Adamawa State Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the #EndSARS protest and police brutality has submitted its report, indicting the police.

SaharaReporters learnt that the commission submitted its report on Monday in Yola, the state capital, to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, noting that 13 memoranda with exhibits were received from victims of police brutality.

The commission’s chairman, Justice Adamu Hobon (rtd), said, “The commission received a total of 13 memoranda from the affected individuals together with their documentary evidence.

“Some of the losses suffered ranged from mental trauma, physical body pains, loss of properties and losses of human lives, some of which are not quantifiable in monetary terms.”
While remarking on the report, Governor Fintiri vowed to implement the recommendations by ensuring those culpable are punished according to the laws of the land.

He said, “One thing I’ll assure you is that this report would be studied and all the recommendations will be implemented. I also believe all the 13 cases mentioned were treated based on merit; and we’re also going to treat them on the strength of their solutions.”
