Abducted Adamawa Medical Doctor Released From Bandits’ Captivity

A medical doctor and owner of a private hospital in Yola, Adamawa State, Dr Saidu Bala, who was abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits, has been released.

Bala was kidnapped on Monday evening while seeing patients at his hospital in Ngurore, a satellite town on the outskirt of Yola, the state capital.



SaharaReporters was informed that the assailants numbering about four stormed the hospital and forcibly took him away while firing shots to scare away people.

Family members said the doctor regained his freedom on Friday evening.

They also objected to request for details surrounding the medical doctor’s release.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the gunmen contacted the family asking for an undisclosed ransom payment for his release.
