Igbo Veterans Group AVID Stands Behind Kanu Family’s Bargain with Tinubu

The American Military Veterans of Igbo Descent, (AVID) have affirmed their support with the position of the younger brother of the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Prince Emmanuel Kanu on the implementation of the agreement between their family and President Bola Tinubu through his son Seyi.

According to Galaxy TV, the Body in a statement issued by its President and Secretary, Dr Sylvester Onyia, and Dr. Godson Obiagwu also agreed with the recent pronouncement of the concerned Igbo Ministers’ Commission that the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu is a betrayal of Igbo nation.

The American Military Veterans of Igbo Descent reminded the southeast Governors and others of an act that empowers the President of the United States to impose sanctions against foreign officials complicit in gross violations of international recognized human rights, against persons for exercising internationally recognized rights to freedom of expression or association, among other things.

The group therefore, warned that time is coming when the inaction in seeking for the release of Nnamdi Kanu may make the governors complicit and thus subject them to the full consequences of the US Act should they travel to the country.
