Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been returned to the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) following an indefinite adjournment of his trial.
Kanu, who has been in DSS custody since his arrest in June 2021, has been vocal in questioning the jurisdiction of his alleged terrorism charges and criticizing the Nigerian legal system.
Justice Binta Fatima Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday adjourned the matter sine die.
The adjournment of the trial indefinitely followed Kanu’s insistence that the judge cannot preside over his case since she had recused herself.
