“My ex-wife still has access to my bank account” — Barstool sports founder Dave Portnoy reveals

American media entrepreneur and Barstool Sports founder, Dave Portnoy, has sparked online conversations following his revealing sit-down with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast.

In the interview, Portnoy confirmed that his ex-wife still has access to his bank account, explaining that he trusts her “implicitly.”

“She was there when we couldn’t afford a hamburger… when we were living at the in-laws’ house,” he said, describing her as someone who stood by him during the early days of his career. “To me, just like we kind of separated when we started making it, so she doesn’t get to enjoy any of that. That’s not right.”

Despite their split, Portnoy emphasized that they still have a close friendship, even calling her his best friend. “If she called me right now and said ‘I need you,’ I’d be there.”

Sharpe, visibly stunned, asked if Portnoy would be fine with his ex spending his money on something like a lavish wedding. Portnoy replied, “Yes. 100%.”

Their marriage may not have worked, but loyalty, according to Portnoy, remains at the heart of their relationship.
