Former Senator Shehu Sani has issued a clarion call to young Nigerians, urging them to move beyond social media activism and actively participate in the political process by contesting for elective offices.
In a message shared via his official social media handle, the human rights activist reminded the youth that many of today’s political leaders began their journey while still young.
“Dear Young People, all the people you see in government and in the opposition were of your age in 1999 when they contested for office and are now ruling over you,” he stated.
Senator Sani encouraged young Nigerians to stop spending their prime years solely in the comment sections and instead channel their energy into leadership ambitions. “Don’t exhaust your youthful age in social media or the comment section. Aspire to contest election and shape the country in line with your dreams,” he added.
