Customs intercept 230 bags of Indian hemp in Katsina

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Katsina State Command has intercepted 230 bags of Indian hemp, leading to the arrest of one Saifullahi Lawal.

Acting Controller of the NCS in Katsina, Mr Dalha Wada-Chedi disclosed this on Wednesday November 3, while handing over the suspect and the exhibit to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Chedi who was represented by the Deputy Controller (DC), Administration of the command, Baffa Dambam, revealed that the suspect was arrested with the exhibit around Shargalle town on the Daura-Katsina Road in Mashi Local Government Area.

Reacting to questions asked by journalists, Lawal disclosed that it was his third time of conveying such item from Lagos to Katsina without knowing it was Indian hemp.
